Terms of service

1. Who this is between

These terms are between Skublooms Ltd ("Skublooms", "we") and the school that creates an account ("the school", "you"). By completing onboarding, the school accepts them.

The person who onboards must be authorised to act for the school.

2. What Skublooms provides

A hosted school management platform: student records, classes and enrolment, gradesheets and results, attendance, fee structures and invoices, online fee collection, messaging, and reporting.

We provide it as it is described on this site. We may add, change or withdraw features, and will give notice before withdrawing one a school relies on.

3. What it costs

The platform is free to schools. No subscription, no setup fee, no per-pupil charge. We earn from transactions instead, and the charges are:

• ₦300 per online term-fee payment, added to what the parent pays — not deducted from the school.
• ₦100 per online payment for an extra — an excursion, a uniform, a levy.
• ₦200 per result check, where the school uses result checking. The school keeps its own result-checker price in full.

The payment gateway applies its own charge in addition, shown to the payer before they confirm. A charge is fixed at the moment a payment is made, so a receipt reprints identically if we later change our prices. We will give schools notice before a change takes effect.

One payment a school makes: where a school grants a full scholarship, the ₦300 is owed by the school rather than the family, because no family payment will occur.

4. Fee collection and settlement

School fees paid through Skublooms are collected by a licensed payment provider and settled to the bank account the school verified during onboarding. We hold the school's money only for as long as settlement takes.

The school is responsible for the fees it charges, for what it charges them for, and for any dispute with a family about them. We are responsible for collecting them accurately and passing them on.

Payments made outside the platform are invisible to it. There is no way to record a cash or bank-teller payment against an invoice, and a school that collects fees elsewhere should expect its balances and reports to be incomplete by exactly that amount.

5. Results and fee clearance

Where a school uses the fee gate, a student's result is released when the fees that gate it are cleared. This is the only commercial enforcement in the product, and it is what allows the platform to be free.

A school can waive any fee for any student, at any time, without paying it. Which students see results, and when, remains the school's decision.

6. The school's responsibilities

• Keep account credentials secure, and remove access for staff who leave.
• Have a lawful basis for the student and guardian data you enter, and tell families how their data is used.
• Send messages only to people who expect to hear from you, and comply with Nigerian messaging rules.
• Keep records accurate — we hold what you enter, and cannot verify it for you.

7. Who owns the data

The school owns its data. Students, staff, results, fees and payments entered into Skublooms remain the school's, and we claim no ownership of them.

We hold and process it to run the service, as set out in our privacy policy. A school may export its data at any time, and may ask us to delete it after leaving, subject to records we are legally required to keep.

The platform itself — the software, design and content of this site — remains ours.

8. Availability

We work to keep Skublooms available and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and are not liable for outages caused by a payment provider, a messaging provider, a hosting provider or a network fault outside our control.

9. Suspension and ending the agreement

A school may leave at any time, and there is nothing to cancel — there is no subscription. Ask us and we will export your data and close the account.

We may suspend an account that is being used unlawfully, that puts other schools' data at risk, or that is used to collect money the school is not entitled to collect. Where we can, we will warn first.

Fees already collected from families are settled to the school regardless of how the agreement ends.

10. Liability

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by Nigerian law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to the transaction charges the school's families paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the Nigerian courts.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects a school's rights or costs, we will give notice before it takes effect, and continuing to use Skublooms afterwards accepts the change.
